Social Theory & Applied Research Program
What is Included in the Program Expenses?
Tuition and Fees
Tuition includes the standard tuition cost for the listed courses indicated in the program fees/charges at the program destination and items listed below.

Academic Credit
An official transcript will be issued at the end of the program. The amount of credit awarded is under the discretion of your home university. The STAR program will assist you to obtain approval from your academic advisor prior to departure for the courses in which you plan to enroll.
 
Airport Reception
We will arrange for airport pick-up to your hostel upon arrival at program destination.
 
Orientation and Immersion Activities
We will offer unforgettable cultural immersion sections and trips that will integrate you smoothly into the local cultures.  The orientation will equip you with basic language skills that will help you to carry out your day to day activities in your host communities.

Resident Staff
There will always be a staff on site 24/7to ensure that you have a positive study abroad experience. From academic support to cultural counseling, the staff will be available to help you make a smooth transition into your new culture and educational environment.

Housing
We will provide you with accommodation.  As part of the cultural immersion we will suggest that you spent some time with families designated by the local program coordinator.  You may opt to stay with families at home during the entire section.  However we recommend staying on the program provided accommodation.

Meals
Meals will be provided but at the request of the group, we can offer cash allowances for groups to try out other eating places.

Excursions
One of the benefits of studying abroad is to be curious, explore and discover. The STAR program will always include a minimum of 3 trips per semester.

Volunteer Opportunities
For individuals who wish to be involved in voluntary assignments, STAR program will arrange to provide you with access to volunteer opportunities. This may vary from building social amenities, giving a talk in youth groups to teaching in schools.

Cell Phones
STAR program will set up a cell phone rental at no cost to you during the program. You will be responsible for charges all the phone calls you make and the damage or loss of the phone.
